Teachers for Kids - Rick Brooks-Hill Memorial Award

Rick Brooks-Hill and his wife, Priscilla, live in Vancouver, British Columbia and have a cottage on Stony Lake. During a conversation with friends, who happened to be KPR teachers, they became aware of TFK and what they do for students.  Rick immediately wanted to contribute and, despite not having any family ever attend KPR schools, Rick and Pricilla have donated to Teachers for Kids for many years.  In fact, they have become the greatest individual contributors in the history of the charity. Sadly, Rick passed away in December of 2019.  TFK has established this bursary in his name to honour the kindness, good will, and generosity of a wonderful man.

This award is presented to a graduating student who has demonstrated financial need, demonstrates empathy, and embodies a spirit of generosity and community involvement that helps remove barriers and increase potential for success.

Teachers for Kids (Northern Chapter) has established a graduation award in memory of Rick

Brooks-Hill to be known as known as The Teachers for Kids – Rick Brooks-Hill Memorial Award

in the amount of $250.00 for a graduating student from each of:

Adam Scott CVI, Crestwood SS, Kenner SS, Norwood DHS, Peterborough Alternative and Continuing Education, and Thomas A Stewart SS.

The successful recipient must meet the following criteria:

  • has demonstrated financial need.

  • has demonstrated empathy.

  • has embodied a spirit of generosity and community involvement that helped remove barriers and increase potential for success.
